Dear Fellow Citizens,

I want to begin by thanking you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your councilwoman for the last three years.  It has been a privilege and an honor to represent you on our Cecil County Council.

I would like to share with you my story about how I came to be involved in politics, what I have done while on council for the last three years, and why I am seeking a second term.

As a lifelong Republican and conservative, I have always been interested in politics.  In 2009, I became very concerned about the direction in which our country was headed, and believed the best way to enact change was right in my own back yard.  That year, I co-founded a local civic group called the Cecil County Patriots.  Our mission was to encourage civic involvement and education and work towards a fiscally conservative, constitutionally limited government at all levels.

Through this organization, I began to attend local meetings and became more educated regarding issues facing our local government.  I volunteered on campaigns for Republicans at the local, state, and federal levels, and became involved in issues related to spending, property rights, and local autonomy.

In 2015 I decided to run for county council, and as part of my campaign I promised to continue to stand for the same conservative principles I stood for as a citizen.  Over the last three years, I have kept my commitment to you and have stood up for the issues that were the basis of my campaign, by supporting infrastructure development and job creation, standing against irresponsible spending, voting against both property and income tax increases, and defending property rights.  I have worked to increase the accountability of government and have been responsive to citizens’ concerns.

As a middle class working mom of three, I am able to represent the average working citizen of Cecil County.  In my own life I know what it means to live within a budget and prioritize spending, and I respect your hard earned dollar.  I also care about making sure my kids have a reason to make Cecil County their home once they grow up.

As your representative, I will continue to support funding for upgrades to our aging roads as well as other essential services like education and public safety.  I will continue to hold government accountable for spending, promote economic growth, and work for you, the taxpayer to make sure all citizens are receiving the benefit of that growth.  With me as your representative, you can be confident knowing you have a conservative voice on the council as well as someone you can reach out to anytime who will be responsive to your concerns.

Because of my proven conservative record, work ethic, commitment, and experience, I respectfully ask for your support in the Republican primary on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

Thank you,

Jackie Gregory
